Assistance for Tent Communities

Parishioners, did you know that at any given time, there are 3-5 tent communities at the base of Look-out Mountain? These are folks who do not have permanent homes. Shelter is available in the form of simple tents that can be purchased through Amazon Prime for less than $50.00. Go to https://smile.amazon.com/Pacific-Pass-Water-Resistence-Portable/dp/B085V2WMRP. Another useful item that helps the people in these communities prepare hot food/beverages and stay warm is a simple 16-ounce cannister of Coleman propane camping gas (available for about $7.00-$9.00) at various local hardware and grocery stores. One empty cannister is on display in the narthex for the next two weekends. We can make a real difference for someone out in the cold this winter. If you feel called to purchase a tent, you may have it shipped directly to 1227 Scenic Hwy, Lookout Mtn, GA. 30750. In addition to the propane cannisters, you may drop off items such as warm socks, winter coats, knit caps, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc. at the church office or bring them to any Mass. Thanks and God bless.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Mark
