St. Patrick’s Day Dispensation 

Archbishop Hartmayer has granted Catholics who reside in the Archdiocese of Atlanta a dispensation from the Lenten abstinence obligation on Friday, March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, as this feast is celebrated in significant ways throughout the Archdiocese.
For those who live in Tennessee or Alabama, the bishops of Knoxville and Birmingham have also dispensed the faithful from the usual Lenten Friday obligation on St. Patrick’s Day.
