Support Needed for Room in the Inn

Room in the Inn is a Chattanooga ministry that is a residential program for homeless women and their children. It the longest running ministry that OLMCC supports. Room in the Inn provides transitional housing, one meal a day provided by volunteers, life skills, parenting classes, mentorships, day care, and school transportation/tutoring. They are pet-friendly so no family ever has to leave their fur baby behind!

Our current volunteers have been serving this ministry for years and need to retire. We only need 12 volunteers who are willing to provide a meal ONCE A YEAR! The second Tuesday of each month OLMCC is responsible for providing a meal for residents and their families. Meals can be homemade, store-bought, or meals/pizza can even be delivered to their door. Meals may be dropped off hot or cold anytime before 5:00 P.M. or even the day before. Typically we are serving less than 30 people, includ-ing children, and they call you days ahead with a headcount. They are located on Highland Avenue downtown, so it is close. You can volunteer as a family, an individual, a couple, or with a good friend. Please contact Gwin Tugman, 423-718-3581 or jtug@epbfi.com, to volunteer or to learn more about this wonderful ministry.
